June 22, 2004

I was pretty much chompin' at the bit all morning until UPS arrived with my new starter. I stole some tools from Bruce, and we headed out to the airport to swap out the starter. He brought his young son Caeden along to see "Dan's fast plane."

Caeden got a kick out of sitting in the plane.

We've got our next RV builder victim here, folks.

After replacing the starter, I wanted to test it out, but I didn't want to just start it up and then shut it right down. I told Bruce I wanted to run it for a while, so if he was interested we could taxi around with Caeden a bit. They strapped into the right seat and I fired the plane up -- of course the replacement starter worked absolutely fine (and hasn't given me any trouble since). I'm not sure if Caeden knew what was going on, but we taxied around Taunton airport a bit.

As I was tying the plane down Bruce had us pose for this shot.

That afternoon the weather looked threatening, but the gods must have smiled down upon the shiny plane...it never rained. That was fortunate, because we had a big BBQ at Bruce's with all the old buddies and family and stuff. Great time. Then we drove (yes, drove, I only have 2 seats...) down to Foxwoods and did some damage at the low-limit hold 'em table. Good time.
