I spent nearly all day working on the new compressor enclosure. It took quite a bit of framing to get it sealed and attached to the corner walls. Whoever built this garage had no regard for consistency...the distance between the studs varies like crazy. Looks like the old one, I know...the front face is actually the same piece, but I had to make a new side and top. I wired it up with a remote switch and ran the air hose and the temperature sender wire through acoustic foam in a small gap. All those white "orb" looking things are dust particles...that's how my crappy digital camera deals with them...kind of annoying.
After all the cleanup was done, I had a huge chunk of space back there. You have no idea how relieved I am to know that I can now finish the fuselage without any more modifications to the garage (yeah, right, we'll see). Anyway, you can see the longerons on the bench on the left...now I can get back to notching them and doing some airplane work.
It might even be possible to do firewall forward in here. With the horizontal stabilizer mounted it's going to get crazy, so we'll see.
